A series of lectures and online conversations, exploring the possibilities and intersections between art, activism and academic research, to recognize mountains as living bodies. The series is developed in chapters that go from the experience of the body and the social and political contexts of resistance, to a conceptualization of the possibility of future life around and together with mountains; proposing connections of care between human bodies, mountains, glaciers and rock formations.

THIRD fellows share their approaches to research experiments and techniques for documentation and artistic practice.

In January 2022 THIRD organized the Mini Fieldings Forum, an online programme around their recently published book on artistic research Fieldings – Propositions for 3rd Cycle Research in the Performing Arts. We discussed questions and shared examples of publishing artistic practices and publishing as an artistic practice in a round table conversation. We asked our guests Koleka Putuma, Erin Manning and Florian Dombois to reflect on the potential of publishing and/as artistic practice in a THIRDtalk.
