Conversation with Irene Fortuyn

About art as a knowledge discipline
In this episode, we talk about collaboration with people and with places.
We discussed how curiosity guides creative processes and how it connects to taking responsibility for a shared outcome.  How to focus in a world outside the art context and stay in dialogue with what is around you?

Irene Fortuyn is an artist, researcher, and lecturer. In the 1980s, she began creating installations and sculptures, and over time expanded her body of work to include the development of parks and the study of landscapes. Her focus has shifted from the institutional, centered on the museum and the artist, to the public, emphasizing public space and the importance of the collective, moving from the object to the experience of the environment. Her practice therefore engages people from all walks of life, enabling them to express themselves in the creative process where care and maintenance are central.
